      SMC Policy Subcommittee meetings are public.     2. II. OLD BUSINESS

      A. FREQUENCY OF SHELTER INSPECTIONS

      The Subcommittee will discuss language to implement the change in inspection frequency for shelters with few complaints, to make it possible to begin inspecting Navigation Centers (where the benefit is likely to be greater).

      Proposed Action: Agree on the text to be placed before the full Committee, to allow fewer inspections of shelters with few issues.   

       

      B.  NAVIGATION CENTERS – NEXT STEPS

      Insofar as the Committee hopes to take on the monitoring of Navigation Centers, the Subcommittee will consider other steps that should be taken.

      The Subcommittee will discuss issues relating to increase in population and density. There are likely to be more challenges, especially if staffing isn’t increased. SIP hotels will be closing by December 2022.
