      The San Francisco Arts Commission acknowledges that we are on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. As the indigenous stewards of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Ramaytush Ohlone have never ceded, lost nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory. As guests, we recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. We wish to pay our respects by acknowledging the ancestors, elders and relatives of the Ramaytush Community and by affirming their sovereign rights as First Peoples.       1. Motion to approve the final design of "Listening Stones," a series of 11 granite boulders, by Mark Baugh-Sasaki for the Ocean Beach Climate Change Adaptation Project, located at Great Highway and Sloat Blvd. The 11 boulders will range in size from H7 ft. to H9 ft. (large), H5 ft. to H6 ft. (medium), to H18 in. (small). The large- and medium-size boulders will have 20-degree "cone cuts" at H43 in. to H56 in., full cane clearance at the base, and a minimum of 4 ft. to 5 ft. clearance from surrounding built elements to provide broad accessibility. The placement of the 11 boulders along the Plaza maintains clearance from underground infrastructural elements, as well as emergency and maintenance vehicle routes.
         
      2. Motion to rescind RESOLUTION NO. 0204-19-036: Motion to approve the Alex Nieto Memorial Monument, a design by Josué Rojas and Armando Vasquez. The memorial will be installed at Bernal Hill, located at Bernal Heights Park. The monument will be constructed of concrete with painted imagery and measure approximately 4 ft. high by 2 ft. wide by 4 ft. deep on a 12 ft. circular concrete base. The project is sponsored by the Alex Nieto Memorial Committee and Acción Latina; the memorial will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
         
      3. Motion to approve the design of the Alex Nieto Memorial by Lucia Gonzalez Ippolito and Mehmet Alademir. The memorial will be installed at Bernal Heights Park. It will be constructed of stone, tile and concrete, and measure approximately 4 ft. 6 in. high by 5 ft. wide by 5 ft. deep with a 12 ft. diameter circular stone base. The project is sponsored by the Alex Nieto Memorial Committee; the memorial will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
         
      4. Motion to approve "San Francisco," a mural design by Casey Gray. The mural will be installed at 72 Ellis St. in District 3. The mural measures approximately 42 ft. tall by 55 ft. wide. The artwork is funded by citizenM and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
         
      5. Motion to approve "Page Slow Street Parklet Mural," a mural design by Maa-Becca Tucker "Monyaní Dèmé”. The mural will be installed adjacent to 378 Fillmore St. and 585 Page St. in District 5. The mural measures approximately 3 ½ ft. tall by 16 ft. wide. The artwork is funded by Shared Spaces Arts and Culture Grant and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
         
      6. Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2019.54, "Zenith (VII)," 2016/2017, acrylic over cyanotype exposed to sunlight on canvas, quadriptych, 72 in. x 145 in. (72 in. x 36 1/4 in. each panel), by Ala Ebtekar. The artwork is scheduled to be installed at the San Francisco International Airport, Harvey Milk Terminal 1, Boarding Area C, North Transition Hall, pre-security, Departures Level. The artwork was approved as purchased under San Francisco Arts Commission Res. No. 1203-18-375 and Airport Commission Res. No. 18-0236. 
         
      7. Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2021.08, "Market Street 5 (The Hub)," 2018, archival pigment print, edition 1 of 3, H20 in x W35 in., by Hughen/Starkweather.       Discussion and possible action to approve the proposed new location for "California Bear over Head of Peace," a black granite sculpture by Beniamino Bufano at the former Sunnydale Housing Project – now Sunnydale Hope SF.     Public comment

    Public comments are accepted in person at all San Francisco Arts Commission public meetings. Remote public comment is available for those who require an ADA accommodation. Please reach out to art-info@sfgov.org or by calling 415-252-2247 with any questions or to make an accommodation request. We request at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting, pursuant to Administrative Code Section 97.7. Late requests will be honored if possible. For meetings scheduled on Mondays, please submit requests by 4:00 p.m. the previous Friday.

    Public comment in regard to specific agenda items will be taken before or during consideration of the item. Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes per agenda item, unless the Chair has announced a different length of time at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers may not transfer their time to another person. Any person speaking during a public comment period may supply a written summary of their comments to be included in the minutes if it is 150 words or less. 

    Persons attending the meeting and those unable to attend may also submit written comments of 150 words or less regarding specific agenda items or general public comment regarding items under the purview of the Arts Commission. Written comments submitted to and received by Arts Commission staff by 5:00 p.m. before the date of the meeting, or received within 10 days after a public meeting, will be brought to the attention of the commission and made part of the official public record.     1. Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note, that on occasion a special circumstance may necessitate that an agenda item be taken out of order. To ensure that an agenda item is not missed, it is advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. All agenda changes will be announced by the Chair at the top of the meeting.

    2. Public comment will be taken before or during the Committee’s consideration of each agenda item. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for the time allotted by the Chair at the top of the meeting for up to three (3) minutes.

    3. During General Public Comment, members of the public may address the Commissioners on matters that are within the Arts Commission’s jurisdiction and are not on the agenda.
