    5. New business

      A. Conserving Snow Leopards “Guardians of High Mountains” Using a Holistic and Interdisciplinary Approach [Discussion Item] [Commissioner Torres] Ashleigh Lutz-Nelson, Executive Director for Snow Leopard Conservancy, will present on the organization’s work with local communities, and collaborations with other non-governmental organizations.

      B. Horseback Riding in San Francisco [Discussion/Action Item] [Commissioners Garfinkel and Torres] The Commission will discuss and vote on a letter recommending animal welfare and safety standards be implemented before horseback riding is allowed to resume in the City. 

    6. Old Business

      A. Reporting from Animal Care & Control [Discussion Item] [Commissioner Torres and Deputy Director Amy Corso] Animal Care & Control will report regarding on-going department operations, provide shelter updates, and present the January–March 2024 and April–July 2024 Quarterly Reports.

    Members of the public are also encouraged to provide public comment via email. Send an email message (with “Public Comment” in the email message’s subject line) to michaelangelo.torres@sfdph.org by 5:30PM the day before the meeting to ensure your comment is received by the Commission in advance of the meeting.

    Room 408 is wheelchair accessible. The closest accessible BART Station is Civic Center, three blocks from City Hall. Accessible MUNI lines serving this location are: #42 Downtown Loop, the #71 Haight/Noriega, the F Line to Market and Van Ness, and the Metro stations at Van Ness and Market and at Civic Center.     There is accessible parking at the following locations: two (2) designated blue curb spaces on the southwest corner of McAllister Street at Van Ness Avenue; the Performing Arts Garage (entrance on Grove Street between Franklin and Gough Streets), and at Civic Center Plaza Garage.
