The Disaster Healthcare Volunteer (DHV) program is a statewide program that helps the San Francisco Department of Public Health recruit, deploy, and manage currently licensed and non-licensed volunteer healthcare professionals in times of disaster. How do I sign up?
- Register for the San Francisco Unit by clicking on the embedded link, which will direct you to the CalEMSA-managed website, healthcarevolunteers.ca.gov.
- Complete basic profile information and licensure information (if applicable)
- When adding an organization to be a part of
- Select 'Add Organization'
- Click on 'DHV Volunteer County Organizations'
- Scroll to find 'San Francisco County Unit'
- Await approval from a SFDPH account administrator

Public health emergency management is responsible for preparing for and responding to any type of emergency that impacts public health and the medical/healthcare infrastructure in San Francisco.
