Service Needs and Outcomes

The Oversight Committee makes sure the OCOH Fund meets the needs of people experiencing homelessness and gets results. Find information and reports about these activities.

Needs Assessment

Every three years the Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee looks at existing data to understand the needs of people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. This needs assessment informs the Oversight Committee's budget recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Supervisors.

The Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Needs Assessment uses existing data to answer the following questions:

  • Who is homeless in San Francisco? (See Population Analysis for more.)
  • What resources exist for homeless households? (See Inventory Analysis for more.)
  • How well is the response to homelessness working?
  • Where are there disparities in outcomes?

Stakeholder Engagement

The Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee solicits substantive input from people experiencing homelessness about their needs and funding priorities. This stakeholder engagement also informs the OCOH Oversight Committee's budget recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Supervisors. Data collected from people with lived expertise of homelessness will be incorporated into the needs assessment as well.

Stakeholder engagement informed the Oversight Committee's budget recommendations for Fiscal Years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. A report of that stakeholder engagement is available here: Summary of Stakeholder Input Sessions.
