Romance scams are when scammers pose as potential dates or try to get passwords, private information, or funds through dating applications or websites.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, "People reported a record $547 million in losses to romance scams in 2021," which was also an 80% increase from 2020.
Spotting Fake Love
You can start suspecting your paramour when they say:
- they can't meet in person
- they ask you for money
- they tell you how to pay
