Probation Services

Learn about the Probation Services Division of the Juvenile Probation Department

The Probation Services Division provides support, services, and supervision to youth who have been arrested throughout the entire juvenile justice process. The Division also supports AB12 participants: former foster youth between the ages of 18 to 21, who were previously involved in the juvenile justice system in San Francisco.

The Division consists of the following units:

  • Probation Services 1 & 2
  • Placement/Reentry
  • AB12
  • Court Officers/Special Services
  • Records, Officers of the Day & Quality Assurance

The Division is staffed by Probation Officers, Social Workers, and Support Staff who promote community safety by collaborating with youth, caregivers, and community organizations.

We support young people to be successful, provide opportunities, and prevent future justice system involvement. We help justice involved youth to complete court-ordered requirements. We perform all juvenile probation duties and responsibilities mandated by the California Welfare & Institutions Code.
