San Francisco celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Winter of Love
This Valentine's Day, the Office of the City Administrator partnered with our City Leaders and community members to celebrate love and to recognize the 20th anniversary of the “Winter of Love” in San Francisco, the historic moment in 2004 when San Francisco began issuing same-sex marriage licenses under the leadership of Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Love was in the air! Over 140 weddings occurred in City Hall as part of the celebration, and City Administrator Chu had the pleasure of officiating the wedding of Steven (who works at 311!) and his partner Matthew.

311 is Here to Help with Non-Emergency Needs
Worried about someone's safety on the street? Remember to call 911 for emergencies and 311 for non-emergencies.
Calling 911 puts you in contact with a trained dispatcher who will send the most appropriate response team for each situation.
Use 311 for non-emergency situations, city services, and information. 311 can provide you with resources and information, issue a service request to the appropriate department, and direct you to the right place.
