What is the Voter Information Pamphlet & Sample Ballot?

The San Francisco Voter Information Pamphlet & Sample Ballot provides official, non-partisan information about local candidates, ballot measures, and voting options. By law, we must mail a pamphlet to every registered voter. This means that all voters living in the same household will receive duplicate copies of the pamphlet unless they take action.

The impact of paper pamphlets.

For the November 2022 election, the Department of Elections printed over 460,000 copies of a 250-page pamphlet, at a cost of more than $1,000,000 and 177 tons of paper. The November 2024 pamphlet is expected to be even longer!

If you live with other voters, please consider reducing paper use by sharing one pamphlet. All but one household member can opt out of mail delivery and you will still receive one paper copy to share.
