Go paperless! Go green!

Review your Voter Pamphlet on your screen!

Every voter receives a Voter Information Pamphlet & Sample Ballot before each election. It contains information about local candidates, ballot measures, and more.

We offer the pamphlet in several digital and hard copy formats. By default, we will mail you the standard paper format unless you request us to stop.

It's easy to request to stop receiving a pamphlet in the mail:

  1. Submit your request through the Voter Portal, or
  2. email us, or
  3. call us at 415-554-4375.

If you live with other voters, you might consider sharing a paper pamphlet. For instance, you could opt out of the paper pamphlet, while your roommate continues to receive it.

By going digital you can:

  • save trees and taxpayer dollars used for printing and mailing;
  • access your online pamphlet anytime and anywhere;
  • reduce clutter in your mailbox and on your coffee table;
  • switch back later if you change your mind.

How to access the online pamphlet:

We post the online pamphlet about 40 days before an election in PDF, HTML, XML, and MP3 formats.

If you request to stop mail delivery, we will send you a link to the pamphlet when it is ready. You can choose to either get a link through email or a postcard with a QR code.

How to access other formats of the pamphlet:

We also produce the pamphlet in these accessible formats:

  • Large print
  • Audio on USB flash drive
  • Audio on CD

Call 415-554-4375, TTY 415-554-4368, or email us to submit your request for an accessible pamphlet.

You can also get a talking book pamphlet and a free audio player at the Talking Books and Braille Center. It is located on the second floor of the main library at 100 Larkin Street.
