All building permit applications must fill out our Green Energy forms.

What to do

You must follow building code requirements to use less energy. 

There are different Green Energy requirements based on your project and building. 

Download the form for your project. 

Fill it out. Upload it with your building permit application or bring it to your appointment.

Small residential projects

Fill out our Residential Alteration and Addition Project G5

If your project is less than 1,000 square feet, you may fill out the form yourself. 

If it is greater than 1,000 square feet, a licensed professional must fill it out and include their license stamp. 

LEED or GreenPoint projects

These projects must follow LEED or GreenPoint-ratings:

  • New residential construction
  • All construction for projects over 25,000 square feet

Fill out our Green Building Submittal Form for LEED or GreenPoint Rated Projects Form GS2.

Non-residential projects less than 25,000 square feet

If your project is interior only, fill out our Green Building Submittal Form for Non-Residential Interior-Only Alteration Projects Form GS4.

If your project is greater than 1,000 square feet and less than 25,000 square feet, fill out our Green Building Submittal Form for Other Non-Residential Alterations, Additions & New Construction Form GS3.

Site permits

Municipal projects

Fill out our Green Building Submittal Form for Municipal Projects Form G6.
