Dear Customers,
San Francisco is hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting November 11 – 17 and, with so many heads of state gathering downtown, you should be aware and prepared for any potential impacts to your work and job sites.
Security zones are being established around several event areas, and some streets will be closed to cars for one or more days. Here’s a map identifying the security zones and road impacts, and here’s a webpage with helpful information about transit, parking and deliveries within the security zones. The City also has a webpage with more general planning information about the APEC conference.
If you have an office or are doing construction within or around the security zones, we strongly encourage you to plan ahead so you have the necessary tools and equipment onsite in advance. If you need to schedule an inspection at a jobsite in or near the security zone, please note that our response times may be affected and be slower than normal due to the enhanced security and traffic impacts.
We also want to again remind you that DBI will be transitioning to 100% Electronic Plan Review (EPR) for In-House Review projects on January 1, 2024. Learn more about how to submit plans using Bluebeam Electronic Plan Review here. Additional Electronic Plan Review information is located here, including specific instructions for creating PDFs of your plans or addenda if you are a Mac user or don’t normally use Bluebeam.
Last, a reminder that any over-the-counter (OTC) trade permits can be issued instantly online without having to come to the Permit Center. California licensed B and B2 contractors who have registered with DBI can go online to self-certify that a project is code-compliant and immediately obtain an OTC permit through our website. Permits that can be obtained online include electrical, plumbing and mechanical, reroofing, boiler operations, and kitchen or bath remodels.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.
