About the session
Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana in some form. A few other states have decriminalized it. Yet marijuana remains illegal under federal law. And regardless of whether marijuana is legal, employers are likely to not want their employees using it at work.
Join us for this overview of current marijuana laws, trends in the medical industry, and insight into how changing times will likely impact our current drug-free workplaces.
During our session, we will cover:
- The history of marijuana use
- Current legal frameworks surrounding marijuana and its potential volatility
- Judicial trends of wrongful termination claims related to legalized marijuana usage
- Current medical research and what may lie ahead
- Complications of Determining Impairment
- Developing best practices for employers in this ever-changing environment
