January 16, 2024 - Fine Arts Museums Board of Trustees - Annual Budget Hearing

The de Young and Legion of Honor are wheelchair accessible. Accessible seating for persons with disabilities (including those using wheelchairs) will be available. For Telecommunication Device for the Deaf (TDD), the Museums use the California Relay Service.

Remote public participation is available upon request for individuals who cannot attend in-person due to a disability. Making a request to participate remotely no later than four (4) hours prior to the start of the meeting helps ensure availability of the meeting link.

Sign Language Interpretation is also available upon request. Captions can be enabled if participating remotely. If requesting remote Sign Language Interpretation, please submit an accommodation request a minimum of four (4) business hours prior to the start of the meeting. The following will also be made available upon request: (1) a sound enhancement system; (2) a meeting agenda or minutes available in alternative formats; and/or (3) a reader during the meeting.

In compliance with the Language Access Ordinance, oral interpretation or translation services will be made available upon request in the language the member of the public requests. This also includes translation of meeting notices, agendas, and minutes (only after the body adopts them), upon written request. Allowing a minimum of 48 business hours for accommodation requests helps ensure availability.

We acknowledge, recognize, and honor the Indigenous ancestors, elders, and descendants whose nations and communities have lived in the Bay Area over many generations and continue to do so today. We are committed to partnering with Indigenous communities to raise awareness of their legacy and engage with the history of this region and the impacts of genocide and the dynamics of settler colonialism that persist.

Lincoln Park, where the Legion of Honor was founded in 1924, operated as City Cemetery from 1868 until 1898. When the park was created, many of the burials were relocated but the majority were not. Please join the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco in honoring the memory of the thousands of individuals still buried on this land.
