SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, August 10, 2023 –The Department of Elections invites San Francisco residents to participate in the “I Voted!” sticker design contest. People can participate by submitting their own design and/or by helping choose the winner.

Between Monday, August 21 and Friday, September 22, 2023, San Franciscans eighteen (18) and over may submit their sticker design. (Participants must read and comply with the official contest rules.)

After evaluating design submissions, a five-member panel will nominate nine finalists. Then, between Tuesday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 17, 2023, San Franciscans can select their favorite sticker design or choose to keep the current “I Voted!” sticker.

“We are looking forward to engaging with thousands of San Franciscans through this contest,” said Director John Arntz. “By hosting this contest, we hope to draw attention to elections and remind everyone to prepare for the presidential election cycle. I encourage anyone interested to spread the word, to submit a design, or to help choose the winner!”

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, the Department will announce the winner in a ceremony outside of City Hall’s Room 48.

The wining “I Voted!” sticker design will be issued to all local voters in 2024 elections, and the winner will receive $1,000. Second-place will receive $500 and third-place will receive $300.

In 2024, the Department plans to host the “Future Voter” sticker contest that will be open to local K-12 students.
