With accelerated investments in family homelessness & pipeline projects SF will now reach 2028 goal in 2025 –Mayor Breed directs Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing to double shelter goal in 5-year plan. City has provided shelter to nearly 10,000 individuals and moved over 5,000 people into permanent housing in the first year under homelessness plan.
The City has now received eight Homekey grants supporting nearly 900 new homes in the last four years, part of San Francisco’s statewide leading efforts to expand housing for the formerly homeless.
Directive will require that the City’s relocation services be the first offer of service by city and non-profit homelessness workers as latest homeless count shows increase in people surveyed who are from out of county
HUD’s Continuum of Care grant will support the City’s range of critical services and programs, including permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing, and improved access to housing for survivors of domestic violence
