Health Network Enrollment

Total number of enrollees in the San Francisco Health Network

Measure Description

This measure represents all managed care members in the San Francisco Health Network (SFHN) who use primary care and/or other SFHN services. Enrollment numbers count the number of unique, eligible, enrolled members in each health plan.

SFHN health plans include Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal Expansion members. Members also come from other health care coverage programs such as Healthy Workers and health care access programs in the city such as Healthy San Francisco.

The SFHN is overseen by the Department of Public Health (DPH) and includes primary and specialty care, dentistry, emergency and trauma treatment, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, and behavioral health.

Why this Measure is Important

Tracking health network enrollment helps SFHN leadership to make decisions focused on improving health care delivery and member experience. Understanding health network enrollment trends over time can help inform the City to effectively allocate resources to better serve enrollees.

The interactive chart below presents the number of active SFHN enrollments.
