Welcome to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. We provide inpatient, outpatient, emergency, diagnostic, and behavioral services for adults and children.

Community-based Care for All San Franciscans
Everyone is welcome here, no matter your ability to pay, lack of insurance, or immigration status. We’re much more than a medical facility; we’re a health care community promoting good health for all San Franciscans.
We’re part of a large group of neighborhood clinics and healthcare providers in the San Francisco Health Network operated by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. In partnership, we provide primary care for all ages, specialty care, dentistry, emergency and trauma care, and acute care for the people of San Francisco.
Patient & Visitor Resources
Spring Into Good Health!

Get Moving!
Get at least 30-minutes a day of physical activity. Take advantage of all the beautiful public spaces and events happening around the City!

Eat Healthy Foods
Try healthy food choices like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, and low-fat dairy products. San Francisco has a lot of great local options! Also, consider substituting water for sugary or alcoholic drinks to reduce calories and stay safe.

Get Enough Sleep
Adults should get at least seven hours of sleep per night. It can help lower your risk for serious health problems like diabetes and heart disease. Sleep helps reduce stress and improve your mood.

Don’t Forget Sunscreen!
Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 15. Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants, and a hat and sunglasses when going outside—even if it’s a gray SF day.

Prioritize Your Health
Make an appointment to visit your primary care provider and dentist for a checkup and preventative services.

Treat Yourself
Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself to some “me time” or enjoy something that makes you happy, guilt free. Give yourself the same compassion you give to your loved ones. You deserve it, too.

General health reminders:
Consider masking.
While it’s not required in the community, consider masking if you have been exposed to COVID-19, if you spend indoor time with someone who is vulnerable, or when you are indoors during times when the virus is circulating in the population at high levels. If you are at higher risk of becoming severely ill, consider masking when in indoor public settings with poor ventilation or when traveling on public transportation. Note that masks are still required in healthcare settings where patients may be present.
Wash your hands.
Use soap and clean running water for 20 seconds to keep your hands clean and reduce the spread of germs.
Get vaccinated.
Get your COVID-19 and Flu vaccines to protect yourself and others against illness. If you are 60 years or older, talk with your healthcare provider about the RSV vaccine.
