Mayor's Budget Instructions
In December, the Mayor issued budget priorities and instructions to City departments based on revenue projections from the Controller's Office. Departments propose budgets based on these instructions. Follow this link for general information about the City-wide budget process and timeline.

Priorities and Values
At its January meeting, the Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee explored the vision and values laid out in the Committee's Needs Assessment (2022) and 2-Year Investment Plan (2021). Materials are available here.
Liaison Meeting #1
Notes from the Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee's Liaison Meetings with City departments. At these meetings, City departments provided updates on current-year implementation of OCOH programs. This was the first in a series of Liaison meetings in the Committee's process to make FY23-24 budget recommendations.

Mid-Year Reporting
At its February meeting the OCOH Oversight Committee received mid-year reporting on FY22-23 spending and program implementation. Mid-year reporting supports the Committee's role in fund oversight for the current year, and provides information that can be useful in developing budget recommendations for FY23-24.

Last Look at OCOH Fund Revenue and Forecast
At the March 23, 2023 OCOH Oversight Committee Meeting, the Controller's Office provided an update on OCOH Fund revenue collected through the third quarter of the current year and projects how much will be available in the coming fiscal year. This revenue picture was used for FY23-24 budget proposals and Committee recommendations.
Departments provided a five-year overview of OCOH Fund revenue and spending in each section of the fund.

At the March 23, 2023 meeting of the OCOH Oversight Committee, Liaisons presented their priorities for discussion and further development by the Committee.

The document linked here contains the draft recommendations proposed by the Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee Liaisons for fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25.The contents of this document were presented, discussed, possibly modified, and voted upon at the OCOH Oversight Committee's regular meeting on April 27, 2023.
Approve OCOH Budget Recommendations to the Mayor
Liaisons presented budget proposals to the Committee for discussion, possible modification, and approval.

Mayor's Budget Submission and Committee Recommendations
The OCOH Oversight Committee called a special meeting on June 9th to review the Mayor's budget submission and adopted additional recommendations at the meeting.
- The Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH), presented information about the Mayor’s proposed OCOH Budget for FY23-24 and FY24-25 in the presentation deck link here.

Mid-year Additional Budget Recommendations
During the FY23-24 September 28, 2023 regular meeting, the Committee made an additional recommendation specifying uses for unallocated Family Housing funds. The memo with the recommendation was shared with the Mayor and Board of Supervisors on October 16, 2023 and is linked here.
To inform the Committee’s recommendations, Chair Williams, Member Friedenbach, Member Cunningham-Denning and Member Walton attended a Housing Liaison meeting with HSH on September 20, 2023. Summary notes from this meeting are available here.
