What to do
To make a public comment at an Immigrant Rights Commission hearing in a language other than English, you must request interpretation at least 48 hours in advance of the hearing. To request interpretation, email civic.engagement@sfgov.org.
1. Get connected
Dial 1-415-655-0001 followed by the access code provided at the time of the meeting. (This access code changes every meeting.) Then press #.
Press # again.
When you hear a beep, you are connected to the meeting.
When you hear the beep:
- Stop and listen to the meeting
- Wait for public comment to be announced
2. Make public comment
Dial * 3 to be added to the speaker line when the Commission Chair opens public comment.
When you press * 3, you will hear: “You have raised your hand to ask a question. Please wait to speak until the host calls on you.”
Wait and listen for your turn to speak.
When you hear, “Your line has been unmuted,” it is your turn to make your public comment.
