COVID-19 vaccines for younger kids

Kids ages 6 months to 4 years can get vaccinated. Make an appointment to get started.

Where to go based on child age

Most places in San Francisco that vaccinate kids can give vaccines to any child 6 months to 4 years old.

But pharmacies can be different:

  • Walgreens, only 3 years and older
  • CVS Minute Clinic, only 18 months and older
  • Mission Wellness, 6 months and older

Pfizer and Moderna both recommended

Both Pfizer and Moderna are recommended by the CDC for kids under 5, with no preference for either. Both show great levels of protection.

Ask your doctor if you have questions about which one to use.

Some sites do not carry both Pfizer and Moderna. Check which type is offered when you make an appointment.
