Application checklist for an Eastern Neighborhoods Grant

What you need to get funding to improve City-owned property.

Section 1: Project documents

1. Project information form

Use the project information template to tell us:

  • Your organization and contact information
  • Your fiscal sponsor if you need one
  • Information about where the project will take place
  • How much money you need
  • The type of project

2. Description of the project

Include a written description of the project with these sections:

  • Summary 
  • Design and impacts 
  • Community engagement 
  • Racial equity
  • Capacity

For a detailed description of each section, read the project narrative instructions.

3. Budget

Use the budget template to tell us about each expense. Include how the community is matching at least 35% of the total cost. Note that you will need to include quotes from any vendors, too. 

4. Work plan 

Use the work plan template to tell us about the project activities and timeline.

5. Project attachments

  • Documents to show your ability to do the project
  • 5-year maintenance plan
  • Letter of approval from the property owner or City Department
  • 4 letters of support from other community groups
  • Copies of any permits for the project

  • Letter of approval from the Green Schoolyard Manager

Section 2: Organization documents

  • Agreement with your fiscal sponsor (if you need a sponsor)
  • 501(c) 3 letter
  • List of the people on the Board of Directors
  • Current budget for the fiscal or calendar year
  • Statement of revenues and expenses
