Welcome to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. We provide inpatient, outpatient, emergency, diagnostic, and behavioral services for adults and children.

Community-based Care for All San Franciscans
Everyone is welcome here, no matter your ability to pay, lack of insurance, or immigration status. We’re much more than a medical facility; we’re a health care community promoting good health for all San Franciscans.
We’re part of a large group of neighborhood clinics and healthcare providers in the San Francisco Health Network operated by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. In partnership, we provide primary care for all ages, specialty care, dentistry, emergency and trauma care, and acute care for the people of San Francisco.

Happy and Healthy Winter Season

Layer Up and Stay Warm
Plan ahead, layer up, and keep a jacket and umbrella handy – just in case. Staying warm doesn’t only feel better, it helps your immune system, improves blood circulation, and generally contributes to overall wellness.

Safety First
As we try to stay warm, be careful when using heaters, hot water bottles, electric blankets, and fires. Reduce the risk of burns by setting a timer or an alarm!

Find Ways to Stay Active
Go for a walk, take the stairs, jump rope, volunteer, or do some chores. Staying active can help keep your heart healthy, prevent weight gain, benefit your overall mood, and reduce stress.

Take Care of Your Skin
The cold weather can irritate and dry your skin. Adjust your routine to keep your skin moisturized! And don’t forget to apply sunscreen and stay hydrated.

Treat Yourself
Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself to some “me time” or enjoy something that makes you happy, guilt free. Give yourself the same compassion you give to your loved ones. You deserve it, too.

Set Goals for a Healthier You
We want you to feel and be healthy. No matter your situation, care is here. Make an appointment with your care provider today. Get more information about the San Francisco Health Network.

General health reminders:
Consider masking.
While it’s not required in the community, consider masking if you have been exposed to COVID-19, if you spend indoor time with someone who is vulnerable, or when you are indoors during times when the virus is circulating in the population at high levels. If you are at higher risk of becoming severely ill, consider masking when in indoor public settings with poor ventilation or when traveling on public transportation. Note that masks are still required in healthcare settings where patients may be present.
Wash your hands.
Use soap and clean running water for 20 seconds to keep your hands clean and reduce the spread of germs.
Get vaccinated.
Get your COVID-19 and Flu vaccines to protect yourself and others against illness. If you are 60 years or older, talk with your healthcare provider about the RSV vaccine.
