For Immediate Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, October 23, 2024 – The Department of Elections will provide a full range of voting services at its City Hall Voting Center during the upcoming weekends of October 26-27 and November 2-3. As with all polling places open on Election Day across San Francisco, the City Hall Voting Center is equipped to accommodate the diverse needs of voters.

Local voters can choose to mark and cast either a paper ballot or an accessible ballot using touchscreen or audio technology at the City Hall Voting Center. For those who may have difficulty entering the Voting Center, “curbside” voting services are available. Voters can request this assistance by calling (415) 554-4375 or by having a companion request it on their behalf.

The Department will offer multilingual assistance for all visitors, alongside official ballots and informational materials available in English, Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish. Additionally, facsimile (reference) ballots in languages such as Burmese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese will be provided.

For voters unable to visit the City Hall Voting Center, there is an option to authorize another individual to pick up their ballot. This authorization can be completed through a Ballot Pick-up Authorization Form, which is available online at sfelections.gov/forms.

“In our continued effort to serve the residents of San Francisco, we will open our Voting Center in City Hall on the two weekends preceding Election Day,” said Director John Arntz. “At the Voting Center, our election personnel will be available to accept vote-by-mail ballot drop-offs, assist eligible residents—including non-citizen residents eligible to participate in the Board of Education election— in registering to vote, and provide paper or accessible replacement ballots. We are offering these services in various languages, ensuring that all members of our community can engage in the electoral process."

Beginning this Saturday, the City Hall Voting Center will maintain daily operating hours leading up to Election Day, as follows:

  • Monday - Friday, October 28-November 4: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, October 26-27 and November 2-3: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Election Day, Tuesday, November 5: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Department of Elections is dedicated to ensuring that every voter has the opportunity to participate in the upcoming election. Should San Francisco residents have any questions regarding registration or the voting process, they are encouraged to contact Department staff by calling (415) 554-4375 or TTY: (415) 554-4386. Assistance can also be requested via email at sfvote@sfgov.org.
