SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 – Today, the Department of Elections issued the 10th preliminary election results reports of votes cast in the March 5, 2024, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election.
Today’s preliminary results report includes 300 vote-by-mail ballots and nearly 950 provisional ballots counted since the previous results report issued yesterday. Today’s preliminary results report includes votes from approximately 2,500 ballot cards since the ballot is comprised of two cards.
The Department must still process and count approximately 5,700 ballots. This estimate includes:
Vote-by-mail ballots (received by mail, at drop boxes, and at polling places): 500
Provisional ballots (cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center): 5,200
Department personnel will process ballots until 5 p.m. today.
Ballot processing will occur from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during weekdays and is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe.
When the Department issues preliminary results reports, Director John Arntz will be available to respond to questions from members of the public and the media outside of Room 48 in City Hall.
