If you need to submit addenda to a site permit. use this form.
1. Check what you need to apply for a building permit
2. Prepare your plans
If your permit requires architectural plans, follow all of our rules to create PDFs of your plans or addenda.
PDFs must be editable. Do not submit locked, password-protected, encrypted, or “restricted” documents.
Each upload must be less than 350MB. You may upload multiple documents.
Title blocks must have your project address, sheet count, and sheet name.
Every sheet must have your signature and stamp. Use a scanned graphic signature with a PDF stamp.
You must upload all required documents and your complete plan set. It takes longer to process incomplete plans or applications without supporting documents.
3. Apply for your permit
To apply for a building permit, we will ask you about:
- Your project team
- The location or existing building information
- Your project plan
- Construction details
You will also need to upload your plans and agree to our legal terms.
We will email you a copy of your submission.
4. Pay your permit fees
Permit fees are 6 to 9% of building costs. You will pay the first half when your application is accepted. You will then pay your remaining fees when we issue the permit.
We will email you your fee invoice and instructions on how to pay.
5. Make changes
Plans for construction must meet City requirements that keep buildings safe and neighborhoods livable. We might ask you to make changes to your plans before we can approve your permit.
6. Pay remaining fees and get permit
Once your permit is approved, we will email you your second fee invoice covering the balance and instructions on how to pay.
After we have received your final payment, we will email you your approved permit and job card.
