Apply for a Bridge to Excellence Scholarship

High school seniors in SF can apply for a $5,000 scholarship through Friday, March 17th at 5:00 PM.

What to do

Mayor London Breed’s scholarship program awards up to $5,000 scholarships over two years to graduating high school seniors.  Last year, the Bridge to Excellence program gave 16 students scholarships.

Eligibility

To be able to apply you must: 

  • San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) or charter high school seniors graduating in Spring 2023.
  • Have a GPA of 3.20
  • Show severe financial need
  • Be the first in their family to attend college
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to college education
  • Demonstrate your leadership skills
  • Going to attend a 4-year university

Apply

To apply you will need to tell us about yourself, your demographic information, your family, any benefits your family gets and your living situation. 

You will also need to tell us about your school, past schools and your college plans. 

You should write out longer answers and paste them into the application so you don't loose your work. 

You need to submit your most recent school transcript and a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or anyone else who has had a big impact in your life.
