Tony Delorio
Tony Delorio, a third generation Teamster, is currently the Principal Officer of Teamsters Local Union No. 665, the largest affiliate of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) in San Francisco. Tony oversees labor contract negotiations for 6000 working men and women in 8 Bay Area counties. In addition, Tony spearheads union organizing efforts that combined in 2020 and 2021 to bring the benefit of union membership to 500 workers in the transportation and solid waste industries in Northern California. Tony Delorio, a third generation Teamster, is currently the Principal Officer of Teamsters Local Union No. 665, the largest affiliate of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) in San Francisco. Tony oversees labor contract negotiations for 6000 working men and women in 8 Bay Area counties. In addition, Tony spearheads union organizing efforts that combined in 2020 and 2021 to bring the benefit of union membership to 500 workers in the transportation and solid waste industries in Northern California. Tony’s work prompted an appointment as Director of Parking to the IBT, and oversees transportation workplace issues throughout the United States. Tony’s leadership includes collaboration with the Teamsters Motion Picture and Theatrical Trade Division.
Prior to assuming a leadership position with the Teamsters, Tony spent 20 years managing the 5th and Mission (Yerba Buena) Garage, the largest and most profitable off-street parking facility in San Francisco. Tony’s oversight at 5th and Mission included supervision of a staff of 50 employees, efficient utilization of industrial and retail square footage, maintaining annual budgetary strictures while delivering growth to a yearly $25 million revenue stream.
Tony earned national industry certification (CPP) while managing the 5th and Mission facility, as well as a real estate license. Tony serves as a delegate to Teamsters Joint Council 7, the San Francisco Building and Construction Trades Council, the San Francisco Labor Council, the San Mateo County Labor Council and the South Bay Labor Council. Tony serves as Chairman on the Bay Area Automotive Group Welfare Fund, which provides health benefits coverage to 3000 families. Tony’s social and civic activities include board membership on SF CityDrive and Workforce Investment San Francisco (WISF), as well as recording secretary of the SF Italian-American Club. Tony is also a Basketball Commissioner on the Athletic Board of St. Robert’s School.
Tony received an Associate Degree from Skyline College and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication (Public Relations) from California State University – Hayward.
A life-long cinephile with a focus on the rich history of films shot in the Bay Area, Tony also serves as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Film Commission.
Tony is a native San Franciscan from the City’s Excelsior District, where he now raises his family.
