Commission on the Status of Women Regular August Meeting

Remarks by President Shokooh Miry.

The Commission will review and possibly approve minutes from the regular Commission meeting on June 26, 2024.

Deputy Director Joseph Macaluso may discuss grant programs; core service area activities; meetings involving City leaders, agencies, and stakeholders; Department staff; past/upcoming events; and/or Department operations.

A. Presentation from Oasis for Girls

Oasis for Girls Executive Director, LaVonda Baldwin, will discuss her background and the mission of the organization. She will give a presentation on some of the current initiatives that the organization is working on or has in place. Additionally, she might discuss some potential areas of collaboration with DOSW as well as support that might be needed from the Department.

B. FY 2024-2025 Officer Elections

The Commission will elect a President and Vice President for FY 2024-2025 for a one-year term beginning September 1, 2024.
