7th Annual Yerba Buena Island Bioblitz

Join the Treasure Island Development Authority, the San Francisco Environment Department, and the California Academy of Sciences for the 7th annual Yerba Buena Island Bioblitz on Friday April 26th.  

Bioblitz orientation starts at 9 AM at the Building 1 Lobby, 39 Treasure Island Road on Treasure Island (formerly 1 Avenue of Palms) then we'll head out up onto Yerba Buena Island through the new parks and open spaces.  On-Island bioblitz sites are accessible. 

For the first time ever, this event will be part of the global City Nature Challenge. Visit https://www.sfenvironment.org/find-wild for more information on the City Nature Challenge. 

Drop-ins are also welcome throughout the morning, and a map of Bioblitz locations will be posted at the Building 1 lobby for late arrivals.  

While participants are encouraged to download the iNaturalist app prior to the Bioblitz, access to a smartphone or to the iNaturalist app is not required for participation in the Bioblitz.   Visit https://www.inaturalist.org for full information and app download.
