About OLSE

The Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) advances the welfare of San Francisco's workers through the enforcement of labor laws, proactive public education, and high-quality public service.

Established by ordinance in 2001 as the first municipal labor enforcement agency in the country, OLSE enforces 40 San Francisco labor laws adopted by San Francisco voters and the Board of Supervisors. OLSE collected approximately $150 million in worker restitution since its founding.
