Appeal your film rebate

You can appeal the ineligibility of your project or the rebate amount.

What to do

1. Write a letter to the Controller’s office

Include:

  • Your mailing or email address
  • Statement of why you are appealing
  • Proof that support your appeal

2. Send in the letter and other production financial documents

Include:

  • Your letter
  • Proof that supports your appeal, including receipts or other evidence of qualified production costs

You can also email the documents to film@sfgov.org and we will forward it to the Controller’s Office.

After you submit your appeal package

The Controller’s Office will issue a final written determination about your appeal within 60 days.
